Description

I was out for a visit to Fort Casey a few days ago and on my way to the lighthouse, this mother was with her offspring. I went down to the lighthouse and when I came back they were still there.. so I followed them a little by foot. That was exciting. All the sudden these dogs started barking from somewhere and the deer got frightened and hopped (yes, hopped!) off.. so I ran as quick as I could to the other side of the brush and caught them just as they were running by. I tiptoed (yet still jogging) to the edge of the brush so I could still see them.. and I got this shot. I actually had another shot, but I was a bit disappointed because with the speed of which I had to think and take the picture, the sky was in focus instead of the deer. I mean, I guess it still looks okay, but I wish it had been the other way around. I don't know if I should share it or not. Maybe I'll PB it and share the link here. (Here is the [link] to Momma and Daughter)

In any case, this is the mother.. at this point the offspring was already over the hill. I showed this to a friend of mine and he told me I need to sell this.. I asked my husband and he agreed.. so now I'm doing a bit of research on how I can go about doing this.. among other pictures. Would anybody recommend dA Prints?

The deer is positioned close to the sun, that looks nice :) I think the sun's glare reflected on the clouds above the sun is too much, might it look better if the bright parts were a bit toned down?

The Photobucket image has its beautiful points though, you (and I) might think the blur is distracting, but it adds an emotional quality. The sky is focused, the land is blurred, it also adds an aesthetic quality, it takes away some of the focus on the deers and gives a feeling of wilderness. And, needless to say, the color is perfect. ;)
