Long story short (though I can share if anybody would like, just send me a note).. my mom today offered me her old Nikon she received when she graduated. It's a Nikon EM (made in 1979 to my knowledge). She asked if I would like it. She understands it is not digital, but she knows how tough life has been for me, and how I don't have my cats, my camera or my car anymore (the three things I could always count on to help me in rough times).. and her and dad want to give this to me. She also gave me the option of choosing to take my dad's old Canon (Canon AE-1, made in 1981 if I'm correct) over the Nikon.. so now I have to make a choice. But when she offered it to me.. I was just like.. oh my goodness.
So.. here's what I need.. which one should I go with.. and why? I will also probably be asking for a lot of film camera advice, so please be prepared to help me if at all possible.
Thanks you guys.

It was cloudy but the first time I went up to Mt. Erie it was foggy and scary.. yesterday was wonderful weather with some clouds.. so I'm waiting for another perfectly clear day so I can get some more good shots. I was playing with my fish eye lens yesterday so I'll have to see what came out.. but it confuses me because there's a big ole' circle around all the pictures.. but I see people with fish eye lens pictures that don't have the black around them and I don't know how.
In any case.. Mt. Erie would definitely be a good place to go.
